Fundraising event will benefit the Pagosa Springs holiday lights program
PAGOSA SPRINGS, Colo. – La Plata Electric Association (LPEA) will once again host its annual Golf Tournament at the Pagosa Springs Golf Course, Saturday, June 18, 2011. Space is limited and registration deadline is June 11.
Organized by LPEA’s line personnel, members of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (Local IBEW 111 26A) based in the Pagosa Springs office, the LPEA Golf Tournament will benefit the Pagosa Springs holiday lights program.
“The LPEA Golf Tournament is one of those events that puts the ‘fun’ in ‘fundraiser,’” said Mike Alley, LPEA line superintendent and co-chair of the event with serviceman Darin Rome. “Golfers can enjoy a day on the links, plus lunch, and are eligible for some $3,000 in prizes – on top of what we will donate to the town of Pagosa Springs to replenish the holiday lights that decorate our downtown and river walk.”
The tournament is a four-person scramble, with four flights beginning with a 9 a.m. shotgun start, rain or shine. Entry fee is $65 per person, which includes lunch, golf cart, prizes and more. The field will be limited to 36 teams. Hole sponsorships are available for $150.
Since the LPEA Golf Tournament’s inception in 2003, the event has grown in popularity and raised more than $18,000 for a variety of non-profit entities, including the Hospice of Mercy and Archuleta County Victim Assistance.
