Director Pam Patton’s appointment to the PUC leaves vacancy
With La Plata Electric Association (LPEA) Director Pam Patton’s appointment to the Colorado Public Utilities Commission (PUC), LPEA has begun the process to find a replacement to fill her seat on the LPEA Board of Directors. Patton officially stepped down from the LPEA board on June 20, 2012 to prepare for her work at the PUC.
Pursuant to the LPEA Bylaws, Article III, Section 7, a vacancy shall be filled by an affirmative vote of a majority of the remaining directors and that any director so appointed serves for the remainder of the term of his/her predecessor. Patton’s current term expires in May 2013.
Any member of La Plata Electric Association who is a permanent resident of District 4 (North and East La Plata County) can apply for the vacant seat. Applications and support information is available on-line at www.lpea.coop, as well as at the cooperative’s offices in Durango (45 Stewart St.). Completed applications must be returned – Attention: Greg W. Munro – by noon on Monday, July 16, 2012, in person to the Durango office, by mail (PO Box 2750, Durango CO 81302-2750) or electronically to firstname.lastname@example.org.
“We will review all the written candidate applications and arrange for personal interviews,” said Jerry McCaw, LPEA board president, noting that an exact timeline will be determined at the regular LPEA board meeting on July 18, 2012. “Pam’s shoes are going to be big ones to fill and we can only hope to find someone as competent, caring and conscientious as Pam is. She has served all the members of LPEA extremely well, and now she will take her expertise to the state level.”
