Davin Montoya elected board president for 2016-2017
Today (Monday, May 16, 2016), during its regularly scheduled Committee of the Whole, Board of Directors meeting, La Plata Electric Association (LPEA) board members elected Davin Montoya (District 2) to serve as 2015-2016 president.
Kohler McInnis (District 2) was elected as vice president, with Joe Wheeling (District 4) named secretary by acclamation and Karen Barger (District 4) re-elected as treasurer by acclamation. Collectively, the four make up the board’s Executive Committee.
Wheeling will maintain his seat on the Tri-State Generation and Transmission Association board. McInnis will serve as the delegate for the Colorado Rural Electric Association (CREA) and Bob Formwalt (District 1) will continue as the Western United representative. Newly-elected director Mike Alley (District 1) and McInnis will sit on the LPEA Round Up Foundation board. Community member Robin Duffy-Wirth will serve as the LPEA representative to 4CORE (Four Corners Office for Resource Efficiency).
As per the LPEA by-laws, officers are elected each year at the first meeting of the board following the cooperative’s annual meeting, which in 2016 was May 7. Contact information for all LPEA board members is available on LPEA’s web site, www.lpea.coop/company_info/board/district_map.
