Fort Lewis College graduate added to Finance and Accounting team
Shea Rivers has joined the Finance and Accounting team at La Plata Electric Association (LPEA) as an Accounting Clerk. In his new position, Rivers is currently working in accounts payable, with responsibilities to also include receivables for Marathon water heaters and ETS space heaters, and work on LPEA’s sales tax returns.
Originally from Seattle, Rivers moved to Durango with his family as a teenager. Following high school, he enlisted in the US Army, where he served for five years, achieving the rank of E-5 Sargent.
“I was in the Airborne Infantry,” said Rivers, who returned to school following his military service. “I got my Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Fort Lewis, and am excited to have my first accounting job here at LPEA.”
