Important Notes

  • Tier 1 (up to 80% AMI): Maximum benefits - Rebates can cover up to 100% of eligible costs for low-income households
  • Tier 2 (81-150% AMI): Reduced benefits – Rebates can cover up to 50% of eligible costs for moderate-income households
  • Maximum combined rebate: $14,000
  • Cannot be combined with other federal rebates and grants for the same project
  • Use a state registered contractor
  • Equipment meets or exceeds standards
  • Contractor properly offers at least one third of tax credit as a discount
  • Annual household limit of $3,200 across most qualifying improvements
  • Must have personal tax liability to maximize credits (Most are considered “nonrefundable”)
  • Installation must be completed between 2023-2032
  • Most rebates require application within 90 days of purchase or installation
  • Must be LPEA member
  • Professional installation usually required
  • Equipment must meet minimum efficiency standards
  • Pre-approval may be required for some programs
  • Receipts and documentation required for all rebates
