These LPEA Paperless Billing Sweepstakes Official Rules (“rules”) set forth the method of entry, method of selecting winners, the term of the LPEA Paperless Billing Sweepstakes (“sweepstakes”), and other conditions for participation. Eligible Participants/Entrants – This sweepstakes is open to persons who are LPEA members during all or part of the term of this sweepstakes. To be eligible the member must complete one of the two methods of entry. Each household or business is limited to one entry during the term of this sweepstakes. Duplicate entries will be disregarded and will not increase the participant’s odds of winning a prize.
Methods of Entry – In order to enter for a chance to win a prize, eligible participants must either (i) enroll in paperless statements here or (ii) submit an entry by mail including the entrant’s name, address, phone and email to: LPEA, Attn: Paperless Promotion, 45 Stewart Street Durango, CO 81303. Method of entry does not change a participant’s odds of winning a prize.
Term – The period for entering this sweepstakes begins on December 1, 2023 at 12:01 AM and ends on December 13, 2023 at 11:59 PM.
Prizes – There are ten prizes associated with this sweepstakes: ten (10) LPEA utility bill credits valued at $150 each. Ten (10) separate eligible participants will be selected (“winners”) to receive one (1) of the ten (10) prizes. No substitutions will be provided. Winners are not eligible for any cash prize equivalents. The estimated retail value for each prize is $150.
The selection of winners and distribution of prizes is being run by LPEA, located at 45 Stewart Street Durango, CO 81303 (“La Plata Electric Association). LPEA may be contacted at the same address with any questions regarding this sweepstakes or rules.
No Purchase Necessary - No purchase or payment of any kind is necessary to enter or win this sweepstakes.
Selection of Winners – Entry does not guarantee the participant will win a prize. On December 14, 2023, LPEA will randomly select ten (10) potential winners from all entries. LPEA reserves the right to verify that selected potential winners meet the conditions of an eligible participant. If any selected potential winner has not met the conditions set forth in these rules, LPEA may select a new potential winner. Upon verification that the selected potential winners have all met the conditions set forth in these rules the winners will be contacted by phone or email within fifteen (15) days of the random selection and a $150 bill credit will be applied to their account on the following bill cycle.
Odds of Winning – Odds of winning a prize depend on the number of participants in this sweepstakes. Each participant has an equal opportunity to win a prize. If there are 500 participants, odds of being selected as a winner are 1 out of 500; provided that after each winner is selected, they are removed from the pool of eligible participants for the random selections for remaining prizes such that odds of winning the second prize are 1 out of 499 and odds of winning the third prize are 1 out of 498.
Governing Law – This sweepstakes is governed by the laws of Colorado and of the United States. SWEEPSTAKES VOID WHERE PROHIBITED BY LAW.
Taxes – Each winner is solely responsible for any and all applicable state and federal taxes on the prize awarded to them.
