About The Round Up Foundation
The Round Up Foundation is funded by LPEA members and guided by a volunteer board of members that oversees charitable grants for nonprofit organizations serving our community.
How Round Up Works
Established in 1996, the Round Up program allows members to round their monthly electric bill to the nearest dollar. The spare change is donated to local nonprofits in La Plata and Archuleta Counties through Community Impact Grants. Members may also participate in Round Up Plus by contributing an additional amount each month.
A percentage of Round Up funds is also distributed to the Community Emergency Assistance Coalition and the Pagosa Outreach Connection to provide families and individuals with emergency assistance funds.
In addition to Round Up funding, LPEA supports the Round Up Foundation’s Educational Grants by donating unclaimed Capital Credits. These funds help support educational programs and learning opportunities in our area.
Together, LPEA and its members have contributed more than $2.5 million to the quality of life across LPEA’s service territory.
