Upgrading the lighting in a commercial building can have a significant impact on the buildings' operation costs. Recent data from the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) estimates that lighting accounts for 17% of commercial building’s energy use.
LPEA offers rebates to our small and large commercial members installing lighting controls as retrofits or as new construction.
- Replacement of existing lighting controls does not qualify for a rebate.
- Submit applications within 90 days of installation.
- Installations must take place in LPEA’s service territory.
- Project incentive of $10,000 maximum per year, per member. Rebate not to exceed 50% of material cost.
Send documents to rebates@lpea.coop.
Provide the following:
- Completed Lighting Control Rebate Application Workbook
- A copy of the paid invoice(s) for the lighting controls listing the quantity and the pre-tax equipment-only price per item.
- Spec sheets for each type of lighting control.
- One photo of each control type installed (one photo per model number).
- IRS W-9 form completed by the member/rebate recipient. A W9 is kept on file by LPEA as proof of allocation of funds. Any tax liability is the responsibility of the rebate recipient. View W-9 Guide here. Name and Address on W9 should match mailing address of rebate recipient.
- LPEA Rebate Reassignment form if the rebate recipient is not listed on the LPEA account.
Once all forms and documentation are received, LPEA may perform a final site inspection.
