Eligibility and Application Details

  • DIY installation costs no longer qualify for rebate. 
  • Charger must be scheduled to avoid LPEA’s peak hours; proof of schedule required.  
  • Charging cords can qualify IF peak-hours schedule is programmed in vehicle or cord, proof of schedule required.   
  • Replacement EV chargers can qualify for a rebate for equipment costs, but not installation. Counts toward 2 EV charger rebate lifetime maximum per member. 
  • Submit applications within 90 days of completed installation or certificate of occupancy (new construction).  
  • Max two rebates per member account, only if member has two EVs/PHEVs.  
  • Installations must take place in LPEA’s service territory. 

2026 Income Qualification Limits

We know the cost of living is pretty high around here, so we're offering added savings for our income-qualified members who earn up to 150% of the area median income (AMI).

Rebate income limits

To be eligible for an income-qualified rebate, you must register through the Colorado Energy Office and receive a confirmation email from them verifying your income status.

  • Complete the form below and upload the following:  
    • EV bill of sale or registration. Ownership or active lease of an EV is required to receive any rebate. *Note: Vehicle reservations do not qualify as proof of purchase.  
    • Electrician invoice (if applicable).  
    • Charger purchase receipt.  
    • Photo of the installed charger.   
    • Photo of electric service panel (breaker box).  
    • Proof of schedule: Schedule charger to avoid charging during *peak hours and provide proof of schedule to LPEA with rebate application. Members understand if they choose to override schedule and charge during peak hours, they will be subject to any added peak charges on their electric bill.  
      *TIP: Peak hours for residential general service rate are 4 pm - 9 pm. Peak hours for Time-of-Use (TOU) members are 6 am - 9am and 5 pm -10 pm. Visit your SmartHub account or look at your bill to determine your rate.  
  • If you are applying for an income-qualified rebate you must register through the Colorado Energy Office and receive a confirmation email from them verifying your income status. 
    Please either attach an image of that email with your application or forward the confirmation email to rebates@LPEA.coop
