Dear LPEA Members,
As we begin 2025, I’m excited to share key updates and priorities as we continue our journey toward a stronger, more sustainable energy future. We are watching closely the proposed changes in energy policy by the Trump Administration, and we are prepared, with flexibility built into our energy sources. This approach aligns with what our members and communities have asked for, and we remain committed to working together to ensure reliable, renewable energy for everyone, regardless of the challenges ahead.
This year marks a pivotal chapter as we write our own story—one of energy independence, sustainability, and resilience.
Key Priorities in 2025
LPEA’s commitment to energy independence and a future-proof energy portfolio is central to our operational plan. Here’s where we’re focusing our efforts this year:
- Securing Future Energy Supply: We will finalize Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) to secure 100% of the energy we need beginning in 2026.
- Reliability: Strengthening infrastructure to support growth and ensure grid reliability. We are building a future-proof grid that can withstand increasing demand and extreme weather events, ensuring reliability for years to come.
- Wildfire Prevention & Grid Resilience: Expanding fire mitigation efforts, improving vegetation management, and using drones and mapping tools for enhanced safety.
- Advancing Cooperative Growth: Creating a cooperative-driven advocacy initiative that works at the national and state levels, collaborates with other cooperatives, and partners with industry experts for meaningful, lasting change.
To keep you informed of our progress, we will report monthly during the board meetings on the dashboard, providing updates on these key initiatives.

Let's Connect: Coffee With Chris
Whether you’re a coffee connoisseur like me or just need a good cup to start your day, I invite you to join me for a series of informal, no-agenda conversations in your community. Let’s talk about the future of our co-op, share ideas, and discuss how we can work together to shape LPEA’s future.
What’s Next
Last week I had the privilege of connecting with fellow CEOs at a national co-op event collaborating with leaders from across the country. Looking ahead, I will represent LPEA at the Aspen Transmission Forum, Western Power Players, and the CREA Annual Meeting over the coming weeks.
I’m excited to be here in this community and look forward to offering more opportunities to collaborate and engage with all of you. Thank you for being part of this journey as we shape what lies ahead.
Sincerely,
Chris
